The project utilizes organic content of Municipal Solid Waste of Lahore City, (MSW) mainly consisting of household kitchen waste, to convert it into compost (organic soil supplement), commonly known as Compost Fertilizer, through a process of around 60 days of aerobic composting. This process of composting employed not only controls the emission of Green House Gases to the environment but also turns the organic matter into a value added product which eventually go back to the soil, hence effectively and efficiently handles the ever increasing waste management issue. Compost is a 100% naturally rich organic mendment used for improving the performance of all types of soils. It contains no synthetic chemicals, its natural occurring nutrients are derived slowly from the raw material used. Rich in valuable microorganisms and humus content, it can be used for wide range of agricultural fertilizer.

The Product “Zameen Dost” is produced through employing the state of the art composting technology which ensures the decomposition of organic matter in controlled environment where the moisture, oxygen and temperature levels of the product are closely monitored to ensure the harmonized decomposition of organic matter without emitting any green house gases into the environment.
